I attempted to do some troubleshooting on this problem tonight and found that the issue is intermittent. Last night it wouldn't transfer any pictures to my iPhone using PlayMemories Mobile. Tonight it worked partially.
- If I choose Select on Smartphone under the Send to Smartphone function, once I had established the camera's SSID as the WiFi network on my iPhone, the camera display said "Sharing...". I could then start PlayMemories Mobile and I was immediately presented with all the photos on the camera, grouped by date. So it worked !!!
- If I choose Select on This Device under the Send to Smartphone function, once I had established the camera's SSID as the WiFi network on my iPhone, the camera display said "Connecting..." If I then started PlayMemories Mobile, I got the error message "Failed to get status information of the camera".
- I then Reset Network Settings on the camera and tried again.
- Now both modes of Selection (Smartphone/This Device) worked.
I'll keep posting if I see any other problems.
