I have a c190 camcorder which I have recorded AVCHD video in the [HD FX] 1080 50i setting. I have Imported into playmemories and edited a few of them. No problems so far.
My issue is when I export these back to the camera or burn to a blu ray disk. Despite me not asking play memories to do so, it seems to cut the bit rate and file size by around a third. In the case of burning to blu ray, it take a VERY long time to do a conversion, before it actually gets on the to the disk.
Why is this happening?
For example, the same clip on play memories straight from the camera is 91.5mb, but the same clip burnt via play mem onto a blu ray is 63.7mb. The data rates are 22126kbps and 15153kbps. I have selected the only blu ray option available for my video format which is the 50i setting, not the more advanced 3d or PS setting.
It is the same with the export function also.
What is the point of shooting in a high quality setting only to have the quality lowered when you want to edit and play back on a blu ray, or export back to the SD card? As far as I am concerned, the data rates should remain exactly the same from camera to playmemories to disk / usb export.
I have the most up to date version on play memories.
