I understand. I have also tested your concern about it reverting to auto mode or not getting options to set the exposure using the app. And I'm sorry to say that it is as you say. The app only gives you an option to change the shooting modes, zoom in/out and settings to show grid lines, save the file on the phone, etc. But there is no way to manually set the exposure using the app. As for changing the exposure settings beforehand, you can do so by going to the Menu of the camera and setting them to manual, from there you can adjust the exposure settings depending on your preference.
NOTE: The exposure setting option is applicable to alpha and CyberShot cameras compatible with the Smart Remote Control app.
