Re: My videos from my A6000 are not recognize but Play Memories or my computer.

Hi Paula,

The latest version of PlayMemories Home is 5.2.0.1, you can download it using the link below:

http://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/www/disoft/int/download/playmemories-home/win/en/.

In order to importAVCHD and MPEG-2moviesusing the PlayMemoriesHome software, the camera must be configured first for the computer to recognize it. Connect the camera to the computer using the supplied USB cable to perform device authentication. You will not be able to importmovies if the authentication fails. In such cases, follow the steps below.

NOTES:

  • When importingAVCHD and MPEG-2movies from a memory card, device authentication must be performed first.
  • Importing images and MP4 movies can be performed without authentication.
  1. Perform the authentication to add the camera functions to the PlayMemoriesHome software.
    1. Connect the camera and the computer using a USB cable with the devices powered on.

      NOTES:

      • Be sure to connect the camera with the supplied USB cable. Authentication may be unsuccessful if a third party USB cable is used.
      • Do not use a USB hub. Connect the camera directly to the USB port of your computer.
      • Tap USB Select if it is displayed on the LCD screen of your camera.
      • Use a Handycam® Station for camcorder models such as HDR-CX7, HDR-CX12, HDR-SR7 or HDR-SR8 that do not have a built-in USB port.
      • If the computer does not recognize the camera through a USB port, try a different USB port on the computer.
      • Make sure that the camera is connected to a USB 2.0 port. Do not connect the camera to a USB 3.0 port as shown below:

    2. If the message To use [model name] with PlayMemoriesHome, the USB operation mode must be changed. Do you want to continue? is displayed on the computer, click on OK. Canceling will stop the registration process of the camera to the PlayMemoriesHome software.

NOTE: Once recognized, the screen below is displayed on the computer.

    3. Put a check on This is my camera then click on OK to close the dialog box. The displayed functions will be added to PlayMemoriesHome and device authentication is complete.

      IMPORTANT:

      • The Added Function field of the dialogue box may be empty if several cameras and functions have been added to the PlayMemoriesHome software.
      • The displayed functions may not be added to the PlayMemoriesHome software if you click on OK or X to close the dialog box without checking the This is my camera box. Disconnect the camera from the computer and perform the device authentication again.
  2. Reconnect the camera and the computer using the USB cable.

The computer may not recognize the camera if using a USB 3.0 port. If your computer has both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, connect to a USB 2.0 port and see if the camera is recognized.

    • B: USB 2.0 port

    NOTES:

    • A USB 3.0 port is colored blue, as shown.
    • If your computer does not have a USB 2.0 port, try connecting the USB cable to another USB port on the computer. If the problem persists, connect the USB cable to all USB ports on the computer and follow Step 1 to see if the device can be authenticated.
    • For details on the USB ports your computer is equipped with, see the instruction manual for your computer or inquire with the manufacturer.
  3. Restart the computer.

NOTE: If the device cannot be authenticated due to an unstable process on the computer, try the following:

    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer and restart the computer.
    2. Turn the camera off.
    3. After the computer finishes restarting, turn the camera on and connect it to the computer. Then, follow Step 1 to see if the device can be authenticated.
  4. Change the camera USB Connect Setting or USB LUN Setting:
    • If your camera has a USB Connect Setting, set it to Mass Storage.
    • If your camera has a USB LUN Setting, set it to Single.
    • NOTE: Some cameras may not have a USB Connect Setting or USB LUN Setting. To check if settings are supported by the camera and to configure the settings, refer to your instruction manual of the camera. Manuals, Specifications and Warranty information for your Sony product is available online.

  5. Run the PlayMemoriesHome Settings Initialization Tool.
  6. If the PlayMemoriesHome software does not operate properly after authentication procedure, uninstall the PlayMemoriesHome software and install it again.
