On my Macbook with macOS Sierra and version 3.3.00 of PlayMemoriesHome I had the same issue.
Then I tried it with an empty pictures and movies folder in my home folder. So I can open and close pmh every time without a crash.
Then I move step by step my pictures back in the pictures folder and I can open and close phm evry time.
But after I move a large photos and aperture library (more then 10GB) to my pictures folder phm crashed again.
So, I move the photos and aperure libraries in an own folder in the pcitures folder and deselect this folder (and the movies folder) in the preferenes of phm.
For me, the crashing problem solved.
