i too am experiencing the same issue - now with all due respect - your answer makes no sense in my case - i have chcked my downloaded files and there are 7 downloads of the playmemories software for the 7 times i tried to install it , i have high speed optical cable broadband and can stream live tv and radio with no problems - I clicked the file to install it , shortly after the install begins and afer about 60 seconds you get this message on the screen
INSTALLATION CANCELLED BECAUSE CONNECTION WITH THE NETWORK WAS LOST. PLEASE CHECK YOUR NETWORK CONNECTION - ERROR CODE 0101 -
so sony is telling me the problem with installing the playmemories software already downloaded onto my laptop is a problem related to my high speed internet connection with which i stream live tv , radio , music , and never have any problems with any of them - although for the purposes of clarity here, i am not running these while trying to install this file ?
I dont think so ? do you really believe that ?
please advise as i have a brand new sony camera and i need this software to optimise the camera experience
