Still not a single response from Sony on this. I called more numbers today, but continue to get clueless Sony employee's who are as much in the dark on this as we are. So far, the best I have gotten is speculation and loose advise to watch the download site for updates. Instead of concrete direction for the Play Memories Apps framework.
I am returning my new camera's because of this, and may just get out of Sony all together. I can't take p1ss poor communication and a company keeping me in the dark like this. I have spent far too much money to have what I would consider basic functionality. They need to either give us the functionality built in to the firmware, or fully support the Play Memories Apps!
I only wish, they had communicated this, when I was researching which camera's to buy. I mistakedly assumed that the Sony Play Memories apps would be there, and had I known they were not, it would have been the deciding factor for me on 2 of the 3 Sony camera's I just bought. And in the case of the RX10 MarkIV, not only does it's closest competitor include timelapse, it is $500 cheaper!
Go ahead Sony keep ignoring us on this topic, this treatment is going to bight you in the @ss
