Re: play memories freezes Mac 10.31.1

Condolences to s3films on the troubles caused by PlayMemories. Here's my story: Also running the Mac OS 10.13.1, I downloaded PlayMemories this afternoon and tried to use it to import the first photos from my brand-new Sony a6500. I attached the camera to a USB port via the cable supplied with the camera. As soon as I turned the camera on, my external hard drives were "ejected" (not physically, of course), and my mouse stopped working. When I disconnected the camera the mouse again worked, and I was able to remount the drives by unplugging them and plugging them back in (all are attached via USB ports). I again turned the camera on, and the same things happened.

So this is a replicable disaster, and I hope Sony's tech-support team monitors these postings.

From you, s3films, I have learned that the PlayMemories app crashes all USB ports. That explains why my external drives and my mouse stopped.

Good thing that I can extract the photos from the camera by removing the digital card and putting it into the card reader on my Mac mini.

But I'd really like to use PlayMemories, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Are you listening, Sony people?
