Re: Playmemories download failure Error code 0101-1007-4032 ?

I had the same problem and it was caused by the firewall functionality of my home router.

Since the installation of this router three years ago, I never experienced a similar problem.

It seems that when you try downloading PlayMemories, the server opens inbound connections, the firewall correctly drops them because it doesn't see an associated outbound request, and the installation fails.

To solve the problem you have many options:

- disable temporarely the firewall

- use a different connection (for example an internet key)

- open a VPN and try again the installation

Hi markossiotis,

I'm sorry to hear that the issue is still unresolved. Have you tried uninstalling the program completely and reinstalling the latest version of the program on your new OS? I would love to know your answer on this so we may forward it to the proper department for further investigation.

Thanks

Mitch

Re: Why can't I use Play Memories Home on my iMac with El Capitan?

Hi JohnC1,

Thanks for clarifying the issue. To wirelessly import your files to a Mac computer, you will need the Wireless Auto Import software. Unfortunately, this software is not compatible with the El Capitan Mac OS. This can only be used with older Mac OS X versions such as 10.7-10.10. You can still use the PlayMemories Home software on the new OS. You can transfer the files via USB connection or inserting the card directly to an SD slot or card reader.

The PlayMemories Mobile app is only compatible with tablets and smartphones. This allows you to control the camera remotely and send pictures wirelessly to your mobile device.

NOTE: PlayMemories Home in Mac has limited functions compared to PMH for Windows.

Hi Dck_W,

What do you mean by files coming from the network? Are all your files affected by this? I suggest running the Initialization tool to help resolve this issue. Add the folders in the initial setup page of PlayMemories Home. All compatible files should show up on the page as thumbnails. If the issue is unresolved, uninstall the program and install the latest version of PlayMemories Home.

Please make sure you are logged in as an administrator before installing the software.

Mitch,

Thanks again for your response. I believe your information is accurate. However,  Sony's subpar support of customers with Apple computers puts me off. I have spent close to $10K on my Sony gear and see no reason that Sony can't put forth the requisite effort to ensure the best possible experience.

Another indication that Sony isn't doing everything they can for Mac customers shows up when I try to comply with your request to mark your last post "Accept as Solution". There is simply no button/link entitled as such when viewing this forum on OS X Safari. If I switch to Firefox it does appear. Hm....

Files stored on the network means I've gone into the Tools | Settings | Add Folders and selected a folder location under Network. E.g., \\myservers\pictures\ours.

I am using the most recent version of PMH. This problem has been constant since moving to PMH v. 5.

Estimated time of video in HD vs STD with 60GB memory card

Hi,  I own an HDR-CX380. My batteries are charging so I'm using the power cord., but the "problem" is the same. I'm using a Lexar 60GB SDHC. When in STD the estimate for the lenght of video is 1h57m. When I change to HD to time goes up to 3h55m. I would think that the reverse would be true...HD = 1h57m vs STD = 3h55m. Can you set me straight, or am I wrong!? Thank you

Hey

I want a way to download all my photos on playmemories and so that playmemories sync the photos to my mac automatic. The mac client doesn't do that, it only allows you to upload photos to playmemories.

How ever the windows client that i got on my pc does this. Is it a way to make this work or is it impossible?

Hi,

To me the issue is more about detecting the network created by the device. It really don't work well, I have to wait and wait and reboot wi-fi menu to see the network appearing after few minutes, when it appears!

I tried on Ipad2 and I phone 6S, same endless delay before I can see the network.

That should be great!

And also if we could setup timelaps to more than 1 frame per minute it would be great.

what If I need to shoot a frame / hour?

Also it seems that we cannot shoot raw.

And I wonder why the 30p limitation?

Otherwise it's great to have this timelaps app!

As far as I know, overwelming majority of Sony's customers still have severe problems with software PlayMamories Home. People mentioned it numerous times last year and today is January 2016, but the same problems people encounter with this ill software. In my case I do not have problem to download it, but still cannot open it having a very common message about "Browser has stopped working...etc." This message is common not only for Sony software, but for other apps in Windows 10. I tried numerous variants in my computer, but all of them have failed. If I cannot solve this problem, I have to sell my camera only because I cannot transfer images into my computer. This problem has nothing to do with camera, but Sony probably does not have good computer programmers. My question is to everyone: Is there any way to transfer images from Sony Camera to a computer without this idiotic PlayMemories Home software?? Please, help!!! By the way, both Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers cannot work with this program, at least in my computer. Thanks to all who can give me a good advice.

I have the same problem. Playmemories Online menu is missing.

The Playmemories Home application is the latest 5.1.00.12260. Menu is missing on my both computers, running Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Reinstalling doesn't help. Using another internet provider doesn't help, too. I tried the Settings initialization tool, nothing changed. And more, on my Macbook the Playmemories for Mac doesn't connect to my psn account, it shows the login box, says 'login successful' when I type the login and password in - and then nothing happens. No connection to psn at all.

And on my PS4 Playmemories works with my psn account as a charm. And on my Android phone it works, too.

BRACKET PRO

since this APP came out, I've laughed and cried. because PRO can not be used in this case, I simply do not understand that this APP NOT have been upgraded to the full.

I have long had Lumix they have 5 steps Bracket in midd-class camera, and in their GH Series 7 steps Bracket.

Sony makes such a paltry APP which can take "all three steps" ... come on !! Bracket in only 3 steps.

I love my new A6000, but really miss the 5-7 bracket settings. Can not understand it to be so limited at Sony / Canon when lumix / Panasonic surging forward on this, a simple option that is worth gold.

Give App opportunity Bracket 5-10-15 ... 50 and I would gladly pay $ 20-30

but for now? never gonna happen.

Now after three years, I really hope Sony gets its act together and come up with a real PRO Bracket APP.

Best Regards

Mikkel

I bought a Sony HDR CX-440 so I can use the Wi-Fi remote function, but when I try to download it from the app store it says:

No carrier LGE LG-D855

No carrier Samsung GT-P5210

No carrier Samsung GT-I9300

how come? They say in their site that LG 3 and Galaxy 3 Should be compatible..

My PMH installation will not burn DVDs.

My PMH installation will not burn DVDs. I select "Create Discs" and go through the create process, put a blank DVD in the drive and close the drive. I can hear the drive searching for a few seconds, then nothing. No message of any kind and no further drive activity. I can burn discs, both CD and DVD, with other software, so the drive is not faulty. I was using PMH 5.1, but when i tried to remove and re-install (in case there was some corruption) I couldn't, because I am using XP. I sourced a copy of PMH v2 which installed fine, but I have the same problem when trying to create DVDs - the process stops at the same point and with the same symptoms.
I am now accumulating a backlog of material which I need to get onto DVD and cannot because of this problem.

Hi williamR,

Welcome to the Sony Community!

The estimated recording time varies depending on the Frame Rate and Recording Mode you are shooting in. When recoding in HD quality, you can record from 5 hours to 8 hours (REC mode is either PS/FX/FH). You can record up to 14 -15 hours when the Rec Mode is set to STD or standard.

NOTE: The camcorder uses the VBR (Variable Bit Rate) format to automatically adjust image quality to suit the recording scene. This technology causes fluctuations in the recording time of the media. Movies containing quickly moving and complex images are recorded at a higher bit-rate, and this reduces the overall recording time.

For further assistance with your concern, please contact your local Sony Support team. We recommend visiting our Sony Global Web site, http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/Support/, for information on contacting the Sony Support Center in your region.
