PMH crashes in Windows 10
PMH has been working OK in Windows 10 for a couple of months. In the last few days it crashes. Re-installing does not help. Very frustrating!!!

We would like to further understand regarding your difficulty in downloading the time lapse app directly from the camera, eg which step in the purchase process did you encounter error?
1. Did you manage to sign in successfully? Did the system accepted your ID and password?
2. Have you set date, time and area setting on your camera?
If possible, are you able to provide us with the image that display the error?

How did you managed to download the app to your desktop ? the website will prompt you to connect your camera every time you want to purchase. Just spoke to Sony Singapore and they told me that the problem came since last week or so.
They said it will work in 7 days time. If its not fixed, I'll sell my Sony and get something else. Plenty of good stuff out there.
I hope Sony is reading this. This should never happened in the first place.

Sorry to hear about your experience.
You can try to initialize the camera. The camera will be reset back to its default settings and the installed apps will also be removed (like the Touchless Shutter).
Set the correct time and date in the camera.
Also, please turn off your computer's Anti-virus. Sometimes, anti-spyware and malware are be preventing the download of the app.
Try to purchase the free app like the touchless shutter.
If apps successfully download, try purchasing a paid app this time.

I tried to upgrade my Play Memories version but it says it's in use which it is not. How can I install new version and will this fix the problem of not recognizing my recorded video?

I want to create a blu ray disc from my play memories videos but get a message the disc must be authenticated. When I press ok to authenticate it says it can't be. How do I create a blu ray disc?????

The labels and other tags such as the ratings won't be retained when the pictures are imported to the new computer. The tags and labels are only saved in the computer or device that you're using to organize the files. Instead, I would recommend to organize and arrange the files into different folders named after the labels you used so that when it would be easier to organize them on the new device. You can import new files to the various folders in the Import window of PMH by clicking on Browse and selecting the appropriate folder.

Are you getting error messages when opening the program? Please make sure you have the latest version of PlayMemories Home. Older versions may not run smoothly with Windows 10. You can also try these other troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.

How were you updating the program? Are you updating it through the software itself or downloading a new version? The message may pop up when the software is still running and has not been properly closed. I suggest restarting your computer before downloading the latest version of PlayMemories Home. You can also uninstall the older version by going to the Programs tab in your computer (inside Control Panel for WIndows, Applications in Mac) and install the newer version after. Restart your computer once you've uninstalled PMH.

The authentication error pops up when the videos were imported to your computer when you were using an older version of PMH or imported them by inserting the card directly to the computer. To authenticate them, connect the camera to the computer via the supplied USB cable. You can also try to create the disc while the camera is connected.
If this doesn't resolve the issue, please run the PlayMemories Home Initialization tool.
NOTE:
- Download the PMH add on to create discs.
- Make sure there are no other disc creation programs running on the background or set as a default (Please contact your computer manufacturer for assistance).
- Only .mts or .m2ts files can be burned to Blu ray discs.

Thank you Mitch. I tried your first suggestion several time s to no avail. I was afraid to uninstall the olderversion because I was afraid I'd lose my older video's and photo's but finally I did your second suggestion and it worked and I did not loose my older data. I hope this post helps others because I spent over 6 hours dealing with problem. Thanks again.

Right on; I couldn't agree more. Canon and Nikon have figured it out. And if Sony wants to play in the pro leagues, they might want to realize that pros use more mac than windows.
